I am size 8M and can only wear Alegria in open back styles. My foot needs width through toe area but tighter fit through heel. Bought this Tarah style in size 8 (38) and fits well except for back strap. As mentioned by a previous poster, the strap around back of ankle is not able to be tightened enough to hold shoe on foot. The strap over top of foot has nice long Velcro length, so can easily be adjusted to fit snugly, but the back strap has only about a half inch of adjustability. I am trying to shove the Velcro further through the metal ring, but it’s a battle. If I can adjust it I can then add my own length of Velcro to the strap. If I can’t do it, I’ll take shoe to shoe shop to see if he can do it. There is no reason why a high end shoe company like Alegria cannot make a fully adjustable back strap. Wish shoe makers would forget that Velcro was ever invented and go back to using real buckles where you could easily punch an extra hole in strap for proper fit. As for the Tarah style, it is very cute, not clunky at all. Love that it covers my toes and bunion. I bought the black with lighter sole for versatility. I live in Florida but travel north frequently. This enclosed sandal is perfect for casual and dressy. Platform bottom makes it feel like you’re not wearing a heel. Shoe is lightweight.
